Mood Synth Privacy Policy

How Mood Synth handles your data on iPhone and iPad.

In short

Mood Synth has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. The moods you type and the palettes you save stay on your device. We do not receive any of it.

Data we collect

None. Mood Synth does not collect personal data and does not send anything to us. There is no sign-up, no advertising, no analytics or crash reporting service, and no tracking across other apps or websites.

Your mood text

Mood Synth turns what you type into a palette on your device. Your text is not sent to us or to any online service.

What stays on your device

The app saves a few things on your device so it can remember them:

  • palettes you choose to save, and your settings
  • your credit balance and whether you have already received the starting credits

This data never leaves your device through the app, unless you choose to share or save a palette yourself. Deleting the app removes your palettes and settings. Your credit balance is kept in your device's secure keychain, which can remain after the app is deleted, so credits are not lost if you reinstall.

Photos and sharing

Mood Synth asks for permission to add to your photo library only when you choose to save a palette as an image. It can add images but does not read your photos. When you share a palette, your device's share sheet sends it only where you choose.

Backups

The app's data can be part of your own iCloud or computer backup if you have backups turned on. Those backups belong to your Apple account and we cannot see them.

Purchases

Extra credits are optional in-app purchases handled by Apple (App Store). We never see your payment details. Apple's privacy policy covers the data it processes.

Internet use

Mood Synth makes palettes on your device and needs no internet connection for that. The app goes online only for:

  • buying credits, and the App Store's rating prompt (Apple)
  • downloading the app's typefaces from Google Fonts the first time they are needed, after which they are kept on your device. Like any download, this shows Google your device's IP address; nothing else is sent

None of this sends your mood text or palettes to us or to anyone else.

Children

Mood Synth does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.

Your choices

Since we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to export or delete. You can delete saved palettes in the app, turn off photo library access in your device settings, or delete the app to remove what it stored.
